Definition of Radiation? What is Radiation? How does fire move from Radiation ?

ANSWER:


That is, the movement of heat through rays or waves, is called Radiation


When a fire occurred at any place, heat starts to transmitted in the form of waves and travel to environment have low temperature and a likelihood occurred to start a new fire at other place.



Here is a question may be asked; how much time required to occurred a new fire?

Answer: It depends on the object which stored there, how quickly they catches fire.

If you want to experiment - how does the heat travel by waves, 

So,
  1. Burn the stove or heater in room
  2. Now closed the door and windows of room
  3. Wait for 15 -30 minutes approx
  4. Now open the door and enter in room
  5. You will feel that the room temperature has been increased
  6. You can also install a hygrometer in room to check room temperature 

The process of  increasing temperature in room is called Radiation.

Definition of Convection What is Convection? How does fire move from Convection ?

ANSWER:


The movement of heat through hot gas and air (steam), is called Convection.

When a fire occurred at any place, smoke starts to come out from fire. Due to smoke have higher temperature than the environment temperature, so it travels towards the lower temperatures.

As has been stated in previous lectures , the law of temperature is that they move from higher temperatures to lower temperatures.

Likewise, the smoke travels in lower temperature of environments and also increase temperature there. 


When the temperature is too high at other end, the likelihood of fire is also increased there.



Here is a question may be asked; how much time required to occurred a new fire?

Answer: It depends on the object which stored there, how quickly they catches fire.


If you want to experiment - how does the high temperature come to a low temperature by Convection

So,

  1. Burn the stove 
  2. Put a pot on Stove 
  3. Fill the pot with water and cover it
  4. Wait for 15 minutes approx
  5. Now remove the cover
  6. You will notice that you remove the cover, the smoke will immediately travel upwards. 


The process of Smoke Travel from Pot towards the air is called Convection.

INTRODUCTION TO FIRE - CONDUCTION - LESSON 9

Definition of conduction? What is conduction? How does fire move from conduction ?

ANSWER:


The movement of heat through any solid object, substance, or metal is called Conduction

In the method of Conduction; heat transmit to surrounding objects which are not burn quickly, such as walls, metal sheets, doors, etc.

As we know that principle of heat is; it travels from a higher temperature to a lower temperature and also increases the temperature of the place where it transferred.

So, heat start transfer in the surrounding objects and when the temperature of surrounding objects rises too high, the fire also tends towards these late-burning materials and starts burning them.

On the other hand; the rapid burning material like, fabric, wood, paper etc. which placed behind the wall or gate is start to burn due to high temperature and catch a new fire itself.
      
                                                 

If you want to experiment - that how high temperatures lead to lower temperatures by Conduction

So,
  1. Burn the stove 
  2. Place a metal spoonful on the fire for sometime. 
  3. You will notice that after some time the other end of spoon you hold has started to warm. 

The process of heat transfer from one end to another end of spoon is called conduction.

ANSWER:


The fire spreads as the temperature moves and the temperature rises. There are four ways to move heat, which we will know in simple words and will understand them in more detail in the next lesson.

There are four ways to do this.

1- Conduction
That is, the movement of heat through any solid object, substance, or metal.

2- Convection
That is, heat transfer through steam or gas.

3- Radiation
That is, the transfer of heat through the rays.

4- Direct flame / direct burning

That is, direct transmission of flames.
